The Wonder of High Speed Internet

As i sit here, in front of my computer, I can't help thinking about where I'd be with out it, or my high speed internet connection for that matter. You see I use my computer every day for work as well as for recreation and communication. We may have high speed internet now, but it has only been around a short time. It was long ago that we had to make do with a dial up service to get on the world wide web. It was like a bad dream.

Do you remember that terrible noise? You know, that screech that you computer would make when it was attempting to connect to the internet via a phone line. It was no picnic when you finally got there either. talk about slow! Thankfully high speed intenet has put those days behind us.

What was really frustrating is that your connection would get disconnected all of a sudden. Thank god that doesn't happen with my cable high speed internet. I don't have to worry about whether my emails were going to get through or whether I am going to get booted out.

I would lose the connection every time someone in my house used the telephone, or when to many customers were using the service.

Apparently the dial-up Internet service I had at the time was far too popular in my area. I would generally be in the middle of something crucial when it would happen. Suddenly my computer said "Goodbye." Whatever I was doing was lost, and I got so sick of re-writing emails and such. Give me a break!

I'm am so glad those days are over. With wireless high speed internet hotspots giving us the freedom to get connected anywhere, hard to imagine what more is to come.

I don't what the future has in store for us, when it comes to high speed internet, but as long as I don't have to put up with the hassles of dial up then I am one happy bunny!
