Creating a Website

Back in the early days of the Internet, only a select few were able to, or could be bothered with, creating a website. The thing was that the Internet was still clunky and slow, and was the domain of nerds and real programmers who had the knowledge to make a website. These people understood HTML. Dreamweaver had not been invented yet, so building websites took a huge amount of time and effort. It was something to be entered into lightly as it it was a very challenging for the inexperienced.

The thing was that the Internet was still clunky and slow, and was the domain of nerds and real programmers who had the knowledge to make a website. These people understood HTML. Dreamweaver had not been invented yet, so building websites took a huge amount of time and effort. It was something to be entered into lightly as it it was a very challenging for the inexperienced.
This certainly isn't the case nowadays. On the contrary, making a website is practically a must for anyone who wants to consider himself or herself an internet publisher or marketer. Millions of people are getting into blogging, and the numbers are only growing.
If you have not learned to make your own website, you have some catching up to do. After all, sites such as My Space and Live Journal make it so easy that people who are complete novices on the Internet are doing it.
It hasn't been long since I created my first website. I put it off for ages, telling my self that it was pointless, and that I was too busy. But if I am honest, I was scared. I didn't think I could do as goog a job as some of the sites I had seen.
I was far below the level of most of my friends were at. I knew nothing about building a professional website. At best, I could make something stripped down and basic to display my content. Never the less, I decided it was worth a try.
It didn't take long for me to get used to building website. IT became pretty staright forward. In under half an hour I could make a website with basic functionality and articles. I found lots of free web hosting sites out there to uploade my pages to.
If you are interested in making a website with a more professional layout, it will take longer, but it is still nothing for you to worry about. Best of all, you will feel more included by your online friends, and you might just make new friends as well!
